Catdoku is a relaxing cat logic puzzle where you place every cat in the right spot using deduction, smart elimination, and a few simple rules.
Catdoku takes the familiar logic of Sudoku and mixes it with a touch of Minesweeper-style deduction. Instead of filling a grid with numbers, you need to place a limited number of cute cats in the correct cells. You need to figure out where each cat belongs while following several rules at the same time. Cats cannot share a row or column, and only one cat can be placed in each color. Placing one cat can remove multiple options from its row, column, color group, and surrounding cells.
The X mark system is one of the most useful tools in Catdoku. If a cell cannot contain a cat, mark it with an X instead of trying to remember it. You can use X marks when a row already has a cat, when a column is occupied, when the color is already used, or when placing a cat would make two cats touch. Taking your time is especially important because random guesses can cost you a fish. A wrong placement may look harmless at first, but it can make the rest of the puzzle much harder.
How do I know where to place a cat?
Look for cells that satisfy the row, column, color, and no-touching rules at the same time.
Can cats touch diagonally?
No.
What happens if I make a wrong move?
Incorrect placements can cost a fish, so guessing is risky.
